Good evening Seastars,

I told you it is usually a quick turn around and yet again it is!  Entries for the Summer Awards meet are due by this Thursday evening, so if your swimmer is interested in competing in this meet, please visit swimtopia now to register.  Our team pays for each entry, and while we encourage ALL who are eligible to swim, we do ask that if you do sign up, you make sure you can attend.  We understand there are emergencies, but "it's too early" or "we changed our mind" are things we would like to avoid since it does cost our team money per event.  If your swimmer makes a champs time during Monday's meet and is therefore no longer eligible for an event they signed up for, we will contact you and let you know about those changes.

This meet will take place on Sat. 7/23.  10 and under swimmers will compete in the morning session.  Warm ups are staggered and determined by team # entries closer to the meet, but they run from 7:30 to 8:30am.  The meet begins at 8:45am.  11 and up swimmers will compete in the afternoon session.  Warm ups are again staggered and run from 12 to 1pm with the meet beginning at 1:15pm.  Relays are created with swimmers attending the meet if we have enough.  They are only holding free relays and the relays are broken up by age group so the 10 and under will swim theirs prior to noon and the 11 and up will swim theirs at the end of the afternoon session.  

To enter events, you need to first click "Swim Meets" at the top of swimtopia.

You then need to scroll down till you see the summer awards meet.

Click on "Meet Entry" then edit, and declare your swimmer as "attending" or "not attending".  If your swimmer is attending, you can click the events they would like to swim.  Each swimmer can swim up to three individual events.  If your swimmer is not eligible for an event (because they hold a champs time), you will see that you cannot click that event.  Board members will be at the pool tomorrow during practices and the pancake breakfast and will be happy to answer any questions you have regarding this meet.  My kids always loved this meet so I do encourage you to attend if you are able.
