Good afternoon,

I hope this e-mail finds you well.  Summer will soon be upon us and summer swim team will begin again.  Registration will open April 23rd, but I wanted to give you a little information prior to the registration opening date.  Practices will begin on Tuesday, 5/31 after school and morning practices will begin on 6/13. The swim meet dates are 6/13, 6/20, 6/27, 7/5, 7/11, and 7/18.  The summer awards meet is scheduled for Sat., 7/23 and champs is scheduled for Sat., 7/30.  Our banquet will end our season on Sunday, 7/31.   We have raised the price of the first swimmer to $120, but the prices of siblings remains the same (2nd swimmer $85, 3rd swimmer $75, any additional swimmer $10).

As you all know, each family is asked to choose a Family Support Task, in addition to volunteering time at the swim meets.  The buyout price has been raised to $100, so we hope families will instead volunteer in other ways.  We have a few new support tasks for this summer, so I wanted to give you dates and ad sponsor information to help you plan prior to registration.  

We have purchased a new pool cooler!  To help off set the cost of the pool cooler, we will kick off the season with a car wash.  Signing up to work the car wash will be one new support task.  The tentative car wash dates are Sat. 5/14 or Sat. 5/21.  A date will be set prior to registration.

The swim team will again sell food at our neighborhood band/celebration series and signing up to man the food sales during the event will also be a support task.  The dates of these neighborhood events are 6/11, 7/9, and 8/13.  Your family would sign up for one of the three.

We will also again sell sponsor ads/banners.  The fliers are attached and you can begin to sell right away.  Ashley Montgomery has nice paper copies of the fliers if you would like to approach a business in person.  Selling at least $125 of sponsor ads would fulfill a family requirement for their family support task.  All ad sales should be complete by 5/23.  All ad sales should be sent to Ashley Montgomery at 159 Hartwell Perry Way, Williamsburg, VA 23188.  Feel free to e-mail Ashley with any questions.  Her e-mail is [email protected].

Lastly, we are looking for a printer to allow us to print the information on ribbons rather than write them.  If you or someone you know is getting rid of a printer, we would appreciate the donation.  We only have three home meets, so another option is for someone to lend their printer for each meet.  Please respond if you can help with our printing needs.
