Important Dates
Hello Seastars,
Here are some important dates as we finish off the season. :)
Practices will continue through Friday July 31st.
Sat. 7/25 - Support your team and buy a snow cone!
Polar Snow will be in the pool parking lot from 3 - 5pm on Sat. The neighborhood is also running a food drive, so it would be nice to participate in that as well. Bring canned food and $5 or $6 for your snow cone.
Mon. 7/27 - Swim Meet and Pictures
We will take pictures by age group on Monday starting at 5:15pm. Pictures move quickly, so please be on time. Wear a red shirt or team suit. Warm ups will begin at 5:30pm and the official meet will begin at 6pm.
Tues. 7/28 - Play Day/Doughnut Day/Paper Plate Award Day
Since we have too many swim team members to have a full get together, we will celebrate by practices. The coaches will give out paper plate awards and the swim team will provide doughnuts and juice. After the awards, the kids will play games and have fun with free swim.
Wed. 7/29 - Fri. 7/31 - Practices will continue
Sat. 8/1 - Final Meet of the Season 8:00am - 10:15am
VPSU has decided to put together the Summer Awards and Champs meets so all swimmers will compete with all teams in our swim union. This meet will be virtual and will look exactly like all our other meets, but the times will line up with everyone in Williamsburg and Newport News.
Everyone is eligible to participate in this meet and we encourage you to plan to attend. VPSU is still finalizing plans so more information regarding this meet will be sent to you as soon as we know. We need to wait for VPSU to load the meet into the system before we can have everyone declare and sign up for volunteer positions.
T-shirts should be available for purchase and the board is thinking of other ways to make this meet fun. If you have ideas for the board, please let us know! For planning purposes, warm ups will begin at 7:30am with an 8:00am start time. Our meets have all run a little over two hours, so it will be done by 10:15am.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
