Swim Meet
Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! Our first swim meet will be tomorrow evening at our pool.
Warm ups will be at 5:30pm, so plan to arrive around 5:15pm. The first event will begin at 6pm. Remember to eat dinner before or bring it with you since our regular dinner food will not be for sale. Concessions will have drinks and prepackaged kid approved snacks to sell.
Attached is a pool diagram to help everyone see the set up for the night. Please plan to bring chairs and blankets to sit on since you will be setting up camp at one of three grassy locations around the outside of the gate. (Don't forget the bug spray.) Note the two gates that will be unlocked for parents to move in and out to watch their swimmers during their event. The front gate will be used for swimmers entering from clerk of course.
To help with social distancing, we will only use lanes 1, 3, and 5 to help spread out the two timers per lane as well as the officials at each end. The meet line up has been set, so kids can see what they are swimming in swimtopia. If you click on the meet entry button you used to declare your swimmer, you will see the events they will swim.
We still need jobs filled to run the meet. If you have not yet signed up to work part of the meet, please visit swimtopia to see if there is a way you can volunteer to help at the meet. The meet cannot begin until all the positions have been filled. If one person from each family volunteers, it saves other families from having to work multiple shifts. In many cases one family works 4 shifts per meet when others don't work at all. Please be considerate and help out.
Do you have seastar merchandise that your kids have outgrown? Bring them to the concessions stand before the meet and we will set up a table. Feel free to visit the table during the meet to see if anything works for your family.
Members of the team plan to visit Brusters after the meet for an unofficial social.
